American Truck Simulator’s V1.62 Open Beta adds more Road Trip tourist boards

New Road Trip tourist boards and updated Goodyear Tires Pack liveries have arrived with American Truck Simulator's V1.62 Open Beta. The post American

SCS Software has opened the 1.62 beta for American Truck Simulator, and the headline additions are more tourist boards for the Road Trip mode plus a refresh of the Goodyear Tires Pack liveries.

That’s the whole of what’s been confirmed so far, so there’s no point dressing it up. Tourist boards are the roadside signage you collect as you drive through Road Trip routes, the feature SCS has been steadily expanding as a reason to cross the map rather than simply chase the next delivery. This beta adds to that pool. The Goodyear pack, a paid cosmetic DLC, gets updated artwork to go with it. Anyone who owns the pack should see the changes once they opt into the beta branch on Steam.

As with every SCS open beta, the usual caveats apply. It’s a test build, so expect bugs, and mods built against 1.61 may break until their authors catch up. Progress carries over, but it’s worth backing up your profile before switching branches. The full patch notes should land on the SCS blog alongside the beta, and those will tell you whether there’s anything beyond the two items flagged here.

Why should sim racers care about a trucking game update? Mostly because ATS and Euro Truck Simulator 2 remain the most polished wheel-and-pedals experiences outside of racing proper, and a lot of us keep them installed for the nights when a full race is too much effort. Road Trip mode in particular is pitched at the relaxed-driving crowd, and more collectibles means more reasons to log a long haul with proper FFB rather than a controller. It isn’t a landmark update. It’s a modest one that keeps a dependable title ticking along, which is fine.
