Trak Racer enters budget sim wheel market with Fanatec-based equipment

The wheel, wheel base and pedal combo is expected in 2027 with the Fanatec quick release. The post Trak Racer enters budget sim wheel market with Fana

Trak Racer is moving beyond cockpits and into the wheel-and-pedal business, with a budget-oriented setup built around Fanatec hardware and slated for a 2027 release.

Trak Racer has made its name on rigs and mounting gear rather than the hardware that bolts to them, so this is a new direction for the company. According to Traxion, the package covers the three essentials: a steering wheel, a wheel base, and a set of pedals. Pricing and output figures have not been disclosed, but the pitch is squarely at the affordable end of the market.

The notable detail is the Fanatec connection. The bundle is expected to use Fanatec’s quick release, which suggests it is built on, or at least closely tied to, Fanatec’s existing platform rather than being a ground-up Trak Racer design. That would make it one more example of Fanatec technology turning up under a different badge as the company’s parent, Corsair, looks for new ways to put the ecosystem in front of more buyers.

Timing is the catch. A 2027 launch means this is more of an announcement of intent than a product you can budget for today, and plenty can change over a year or more in a market this crowded.

Why it matters: the entry-level direct-drive segment is already a fight between Moza, Thrustmaster, Logitech, and Fanatec’s own lower-end gear. Another name in that bracket is good for buyers, especially if a Fanatec-compatible quick release means an easy upgrade path to a wider range of wheels. The sensible move is to wait for real specs and a real price. Until then, treat this as something to keep an eye on rather than a reason to hold off on a purchase.
