Traxion reports that Wreckreation 2 has been revealed by When Tides Turn, a newly renamed UK studio that longtime fans will recognise better under its old banner, Three Fields Entertainment — the outfit founded by developers who worked on the original Burnout games.

The pitch is familiar territory for that team: an open-world, high-speed arcade racer built around destruction rather than lap-time precision. Details beyond the reveal itself are thin at this stage, so it’s early to say much about scope, platforms or timing. What’s notable is simply that the studio is pushing ahead with a numbered follow-up, doubling down on the free-roaming smash-’em-up formula it has been chasing since the Burnout days.

Why should sim racers care about a game that sits at the opposite end of the spectrum?
